Frequently Asked Question
How do I know if I have PFOA/PFOS in my water?
Like most of the health related contaminants we deal with, there is no taste or odor or color associated with PFOA, present in the parts per trillion levels that are believed to represent a health risk. So the only way to know is to test. Testing PFOA is expensive, the cost is $295 including drawing the samples and delivering them to the lab.
Have you had success in treating for PFOA/PFOS?
Yes. We reviewed all the available data, conferred with colleagues in other affected areas, and completed pilot testing on current installations in homes affected by PFOA infiltration. In addition, we had a year-and-a-half history of successful treatment of PFOS in the Pease area to draw on. Both our drinking water systems and whole-house treatment systems have come back with non-detectable PFOA and other related contaminants.
