If you’re a football fan, you’re aware of the crazy number of players who were sidelined last season due to injury—many of whom were considered NFL stars. Losing this many prominent players only half way through the season certainly disappointed and frustrated teams, managers, and fans. But the remaining players dug in deep, giving that much more; and the fans continued to rally behind their favorite teams.
It’s been quite a year at Secondwind.
Over the past year, we had a “sidelining” of sorts with some of our best team members at Secondwind Water Systems. Unfortunately, two seasoned Secondwind technicians suffered heart attacks. (Thankfully, both are doing fine, but one took this as a sign that he should retire early.) One of our MVP’s—a much-loved and highly-skilled technician, moved away with his wife, who accepted an outstanding job opportunity out of state. Two other Secondwind employees parted for personal reasons.
“In our nearly 30 years of serving the water quality needs of New Hampshire,” we have never experienced something quite like this, says Christine Fletcher, president and founder of Secondwind Water Systems. “Because we know our employees are our greatest asset, we’ve always respected them and provided the best training and benefits we could afford. Historically, we have had very low turnover. The coincidental departure of five skilled technicians, combined with an extremely low unemployment rate left us scrambling for a while,” she adds.
Thanks to the hard work and commitment of the Secondwind team, we took care of all emergencies in a timely manner and were able to keep things moving. “Everyone really pitched in to help get us through this difficult time,” says President, Christine Fletcher at Secondwind. “Even part-owner, Vicki Coltey, our corporate quality assurance manager, got back on the road again to help fill in the gaps. She brings an outstanding level of quality assurance to Secondwind. Instead of providing that from behind a desk, she brought it directly to the field,” she adds.
“While we all did our best to get through the past several months, we know that some of our customers had to wait longer than they should have for service,” Fletcher points out. “We are very sorry for this inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience and loyalty,” she adds.
Back at 100% again!
We are happy to report that we are fully staffed again. Our new technicians are undergoing a thorough training program that includes a combination of classroom learning and job shadowing with an experienced technician. We thank you for being our customers and working with us while we were getting back to our full staffing level.
