The WLNH 98.3 Children’s Auction, is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that helps community organizations and families in the Central New Hampshire region. It began back in 1982 raising $2,100 that year and has grown to raise $510,801 this year!
The Children’s Auction is run one-hundred percent by volunteers, over seven hundred of them this year. It is run each December in Laconia, NH and offers a range of donated auction items from the community. This year, as a member of the Lakes Region Homebuilders, I volunteered my time to the building of the Children’s Charity House, whose sale generated $90,127 dollars to this worthy organization. In addition, the Children’s Auction enjoyed a brand new “set” this year. The incredible efforts of The Lakes Region Homebuilders organization and the Lakes Region Floral Studio provided a remarkable facelift.
It felt really nice during the Holiday season to say I’ve helped make a difference in my community. I’m grateful that my employer also feels that my time spent on this project is worthy because it is the right thing to do.
