Acidic water is not something that you want your family consuming or running through the plumbing in your home. A measure of the relative acidity of the water. 7 is neutral; below 7 is acidic. When the pH is low, the water is described as acidic. Acidic water can leach metals out of the plumbing system, causing plumbing, staining and taste problems. Dissolved copper will be left behind in showers and sinks, leading to a blue-green stain after the water evaporates, and weakening the plumbing system over time. Lead and copper can dissolve into the water leading to a “penny-like” taste to the water, and causing the water to flunk the health related parameters for lead and copper content.

Treatment options for low pH, acidic water
Upflow Neutralizer

To control corrosion and stop blue-green staining by raising the pH of acidic water. The Kinetico upflow neutralizer has over 2 cubic feet of neutralizing media, offering the most consistent pH elevation. This is a non-backwashing, non-electric system, offering a simple alternative to other neutralizing approaches. This is an excellent choice for houses with smaller well pumps or where a no backwash operation is desired.
Powerline Downflow

To control corrosion, stop blue-green staining and remove sediment by raising the pH of acidic water using a bed of calcite and a backwashing valve that assures the bed of media is kept clean. This filter is available in many sizes to accommodate the flow rate in your home and to assure consistent pH elevation.
2100f Filter

For higher flow rates and larger homes, the 2100f controls corrosion, stops blue-green staining and removes sediment by raising the pH of acidic water using a bed of calcite and a backwashing valve that keeps the bed of media clean. The twin-tank system has a total of 3 cubic feet of media assuring pH elevation for larger homes or problem water. The non-electric, demand-initiated regeneration valve assures the most efficient and reliable operation possible.
