As the late Apple founder, entrepreneur, and business magnate Steve Jobs once said, “It’s not the tools you have faith in. Tools are just tools—they work or they don’t work. It’s the people you have faith in or not.”
In Secondwind’s thirty-plus years of serving the water quality needs of New Hampshire, we’ve always known our employee team is the key to our success. We work hard to attract and retain some of the most knowledgeable, experienced, and caring professionals in our industry. In fact, many of our employees have been with us for over a decade. Sure, we use the latest tools and technology to treat our state’s commercial and residential water quality issues—but it’s our people who create what we call the Secondwind Difference.
In this month’s blog article, we introduce you to some of the key players on our Commercial team, which includes our commercial (business and manufacturing) treatment services and Public Water Systems (PWS) Certified Operator services, PWS treatment services, and gasoline and chemical treatment services. Once you read about them, you’ll understand why we’re so proud to have them on our team.
Commercial Team Manager
Steve heads up commercial and PWS side of our business. He has over 30 years of experience designing, selling, servicing, and installing water treatment systems in New Hampshire. Prior to joining Secondwind in 1994, he also managed a small water treatment company. Steve brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and leadership to Secondwind, where he has served both our residential and commercial customers. Around the office, Steve is considered a master problem solver. “I really love troubleshooting difficult water problems and failed treatment systems,” Steve says. “I especially enjoy coming up with creative solutions that our competitors haven’t thought of,” he adds.
Public Water Services Manager
Chris joined Secondwind in 2009 as a water treatment technician, performing residential and commercial water treatment systems installation and service. He later moved to the PWS side of the business, where he presently manages public water systems for over 135 customers. There, he oversees all the responsibilities involved in managing a public water system, including communicating with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), water sampling and compliance, and customer service. Chris also manages all large commercial treatment installations, from site evaluation and design, to managing the staff and subcontractors required to complete the job on time and within budget.
Groundwater Contamination/Commercial Account Manager
Heather joined the Commercial team three years ago, bringing extensive customer service experience to her position as Groundwater Contamination/Commercial Account manager. Heather works closely with our operations team to ensure our customers receive worry-free maintenance and service for their water treatment equipment on both commercial and groundwater contamination sites. If you have a question, problem, or concern, Heather is just a phone call away!
Commercial Certified Water Specialist
A NH-licensed PWS operator and certified water specialist, Greg has been with Secondwind since 2011. He specializes in designing and troubleshooting small PWS water treatment systems, designing and repairing commercial high purity systems, and providing chemical treatment solutions for corrosion control (due to lead/copper exceedances) and groundwater contaminants (e.g. PFAS, 1,4 Dioxane, MtBE, Benzene, TCE, etc.). Greg also has experience working with local craft brewers on water quality issues (RO/DI) and designing and installing treatment systems to protect specialty mechanical equipment (e.g. autoclaves, steam boilers, humidifiers, etc.)
Public Water Supply Specialist
Rich has worked in Secondwind’s PWS and commercial departments for four years and prides himself in providing the best possible water to his customers. He has experience in a variety of environmental and construction-based fields, including positions as a hydrogeologist and as a field chemist in the chemical waste industry. Rich has worked on many types of systems for Secondwind Water, including commercial, residential, and gas contamination sites. He enjoys learning the chemistry behind water treatment, and strives to understand all technical aspects that allow a system to work.
