Not long into Secondwind’s involvement with real estate transactions, we learned a valuable lesson from an experienced and highly regarded realtor. We were involved with the negotiations and were discussing some issues with the water quality. The realtor turned to us and said, “Do you know the term white noise?”
She went on to explain that white noise in a real estate transaction is just like the static on a radio, and is anything that distracts from the topic at hand, in this case, getting agreement and understanding between the buyer and seller. After this frank encounter, we went on to create a way of working that avoided making mountains out of molehills, and began to work hard at education and training during our engagement with all the parties in a real estate transaction.
